Project Description

This AHRC-funded PhD project focuses on the study of Paduan Renaissance bronzes within the Victoria and Albert Museum collection. The research will involve producing detailed catalogue entries and a critical dissertation analysing these works within the artistic and cultural context of Renaissance Padua. The project explores material, stylistic, and historical dimensions of bronze artworks and their role in Renaissance art practices. The student will work collaboratively between the Courtauld Institute of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum, gaining access to museum collections and specialist research training.

Entry Requirements

Degree in History of Art or related discipline
