Project Description
This PhD project is part of the SensABLATE programme, a collaborative research initiative developing next-generation precision imaging technologies for lung cancer therapy.
The research aims to create an intraoperative decision-support platform by combining advanced optical imaging with artificial intelligence for real-time tissue viability assessment and therapy guidance.

Entry Requirements
Level 8 Honours degree (First or Second Class) or Masterβs degree in Laser Physics, Biophotonics, Physics (Applied, Medical, Optical), Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Medical Imaging or Computational Imaging. Experience with machine learning, image analysis, and scientific computing required. Desirable: PyTorch/TensorFlow experience, biomedical optics, hyperspectral imaging, laser sensing, real-time systems, embedded processing. IELTS Academic 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in each component) if applicable.
