Fully funded joint PhD between the University of Sydney and University of Glasgow examining how knowledge systems shape planetary health governance in Southeast Asia.

Project Description

This PhD project explores how knowledge systems (“epistemic infrastructures”) influence planetary health governance in Southeast Asia. The research investigates how environmental policies and ‘green’ development initiatives are shaped by scientific, institutional, and political knowledge systems, and how these can marginalize local and indigenous perspectives. It examines power dynamics in knowledge production and how they affect environmental and social outcomes. Using approaches from science and technology studies, global governance, and social anthropology, the project analyses case studies of major development initiatives and contributes to debates on equitable and inclusive environmental governance.
