Fully funded PhD at Cardiff Metropolitan University focused on developing the first evidence-informed perinatal health system for professional women’s footballers returning to play postpartum.

Project Description

This PhD project will co-create a female health system for professional footballers returning to play after pregnancy. It is designed to support maternal health, wellbeing, and evidence-informed return-to-play practice in professional women’s football. The project will use a mixed-methods approach, including: lived experience research stakeholder consensus health surveillance co-design methods The research will generate practical recommendations to inform Women’s Super League policy and clinical practice. The collaborative project partner is the Women’s Super League.

Entry Requirements

Qualifications or experience equivalent to a UK honours degree at first or upper second-class level, or a master’s degree
Applicants with non-traditional academic backgrounds are welcome
