Fully funded PhD at Cardiff Metropolitan University exploring how physical development is understood, applied, and experienced in early years settings across Wales.

Project Description

This collaborative PhD, led by Cardiff Metropolitan University in partnership with Early Years Wales, will explore practitioner knowledge, practice, and the impact of interventions designed to support children’s physical literacy and holistic development in early childhood settings across Wales. The project will use a mixed-methods approach including: a Wales-wide survey co-produced interventions with practitioners, parents, and educators evaluation of community- and school-based interventions The research aims to inform: early years practice training policy outcomes in physical, cognitive, and emotional development, especially in areas of social deprivation

Entry Requirements

Qualifications or experience equivalent to a UK honours degree at first or upper second-class level, or a master’s degree
Applicants with non-traditional academic backgrounds are welcome
