A fully funded 3-year PhD at the University of Strathclyde investigating how small-scale Scottish fishing communities navigate climate change and related polycrises through community-based research.

Project Description

This project studies the systemic, cultural, and environmental impacts of climate change on small-scale fishers in Scotland. Key activities include: Community-based workshops with fishers to map changing work territories Social cartography to understand coasts as fluid zones Photo-voice methods to capture lived experiences Analysis of interactions among multiple crises, regulations, and environmental stressors The project emphasizes co-produced knowledge, cultural preservation, and applied insights for policy and community adaptation.
