Three-year postdoctoral position at Leibniz-HKI in Jena, Germany, focusing on computational microbiome research and multi-omics integration to study gut bacteria’s systemic impact on human physiology.

Project Description

At the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology (Leibniz-HKI), we investigate microorganism pathobiology and develop new natural-product-based compounds for infectious diseases. The Microbiome Dynamics (MBD) department uses computational methods to develop personalized microbiome strategies for detecting, monitoring, treating, and preventing human diseases. The postdoctoral project will align with consortia including MiCCrobioTAckle, PerMICCion, FOODGUARD, NUTRIMMUNE, Balance of the Microverse, and SynThera. The project involves computational integration of multi-omics datasets from microbial communities and hosts, investigating gut bacteria’s role in cancer, metabolic disorders, aging, infections, and other conditions. Candidates will work in an interdisciplinary international environment, collaborating with scientists and using state-of-the-art computational infrastructure. The position promotes academic excellence, diversity, and societal impact.
