Fully funded joint PhD between the University of Sydney and University of Glasgow exploring how design and storytelling can integrate lived experience into policymaking.
Project Description
This PhD project investigates how design-led approaches can transform policymaking by embedding lived experience as a central form of knowledge.
The research will develop and test methods such as visualisation, storytelling, and co-design to better represent and integrate experiential knowledge into policy systems. It will examine how these approaches shape understanding, legitimacy, and decision-making in public policy contexts.
The project combines insights from design ethnography, public engagement, participatory governance, and narrative theory, and is conducted across the University of Sydney and the University of Glasgow.
